POSITION:  Information Technology Support Assistant
Position's primary focus will be to assist the Internet Systems Administrator. This will include, but is not limited to, providing customer technical support in troubleshooting Internet connectivity issues, and resolving email problems. Daily functions will include working with Cisco routers, switches and advanced network based equipment.


  • Assist the Internet Systems Administrator.
  • Provide technical support to customers to help resolve Internet connectivity issues and to help resolve email issues. This will include telephone support as well as being hands on to aid in setting up devices.
  • Maintains systems, databases and web pages.
  • Works with Cisco routers, switches and advanced network based equipment.
  • Sets up and configures desktop computers and peripherals.
  • Provides troubleshooting, repair and maintenance for computer equipment.
  • Designs and produces basic reports.
  • Responsible for unloading and storing equipment deliveries.


  • Must have knowledge in Cisco CLI.
  • Must have knowledge using Microsoft Office.
  • Must be familiar with wired and wireless networking.
  • Some job functions will include working with Microsoft Server based environments.
  • May require the knowledge of a variety of hardware as well as software, programming languages, and operation systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a drug test.
  • A qualified candidate would include those taking Cisco Platform courses at Southeast Kentucky Community & Technical College.


  • Full time position.
  • New hires are subject to a 60-day trial evaluation.
